Erminio Macario was born in Turin May 27, 1902, the economic conditions of the family forced him to leave school to work. He begins to recite as a child in the school amateur dramatics company, at eighteen he joined a company that performs in thevillage fairs . The debut year in the theater is 1921. E ’1925 when he was noticed by the great Isa Bluette calling him part of his company’s magazine.

In 1951 the comedian conquers Paris with “Vote for Venus” by Vergani and Falcons, large and luxurious women’s magazine. Back in Rome, Macario tries to extend its activities to film production, making the film “I, Hamlet” (1952). But this idea fails and the film is a disaster. Though the outcome of bankruptcy is to be won and collecting magazines with its subsequent great success. There is no one that amply rewards success with collections of over a million pounds a day: the magazine is “Made in Italy” (1953) by Garinei and Giovannini, marking his return to couple with the “divine” Wanda Osiris.
Since the mid 50′s magazines give way to new musicals and assert new tastes and trends. The comic will focus on Piedmontese musical comedy alongside huge prima donnas like Sandra Mondaini and Marisa Del Frate, with which he produced unforgettable shows like “The man wins on Sunday” (1955), “And you, blondie” (1957) and ” Call Arthur 777 “(1958). In 1957, the film gives him a big test: the director and writer Mario Soldati wants him in the movie “little Italy”, in which Macario offers the unusual role of a dramatic actor, proving once again considerable versatility. The director of the comic as well as to demonstrate once again that behind his mask hides an accomplished actor and has great potentialities.
